We at Little Champs believe that the best gift we can give our children is to provide them with all the opportunities to learn and grow in a safe and nurturing environment. We aim to provide a comprehensive learning experience where academic and creative knowledge is combined with cultural education and awareness.

 

What Really Inspired Us!

 

As working parents, it has always been our greatest challenge to find the right summer/afterschool program for our children. To find a program that gives more than just "safe care" and homework help. A place where our children can also learn other cultural and creative activities from true professionals in the field. As active parents in schools and the community, we found that this dilema was not ours alone!!

So, in the hope to find a solution for ourselves and our friends (all of you who are reading this!!) we brought together the team of expert teachers who understood our problem and believed in our vision.

Our Team!

Piyush Nagar 
For the last one decade Piyush Nagar has been a popular name among Hindi music lovers in North America. A Bay Area resident for over 15 years,he has trained and performed in many cities across U.S. and Canada. He specializes in light Hindustani vocal music and keyboard.

Dr. Dan Rosenthal (Ph.D.) 
Dan received his B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from U.C. Berkeley and his Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University. After retiring from a successful 25 year career in aerospace engineering (using math daily!), Dan started a math and physics tutoring business in Los Altos, CA. The experience of working with elementary and middle school students inspired his Vedic Math workbook "Mastery Of Math", with focus on teaching "Math without Calculators".

Tanya Bhagia 
Tanya received a degree in Engineering back in India. Since imigrating to the US, she has focussed her energy in teaching and promoting Hindi among Indian Amercian children. She has been offering private Hindi lessons for over two years and has also taught Hindi at the Calder Academy in Cupertino. Her practical style of teaching using innovative instructional material makes her very successful with kids of all ages and levels of learning.

Stepz Bollywood Dance     
STEPZ is a premier dance and fitness institution currently specializing in teaching Bollywood dance, offering innovative and fun programs. The dance classes are based on remixed Bollywood music set to their original and fast-paced choreography. No prior experience needed, and Stepz welcomes and teaches everyone! Their moves are creative and hip, the songs are the latest hits and the classes are a fun-packed hour of song and dance!

 

Kusum, is a Bay Area parent and has over 10 years of teaching experience in India and locally. She has been a high school teacher for Maths, Hindi, History and Geography at Central Schools in India. Over here she has experience working as a preschool teacher. She has tremendous energy and loves working with children.

Preeti (preeti@little-champs.net), is a Bay Area resident for over a decade and a working mother of a 10 and 3 year old. As a software engineer, wife and a mother working outside for over 9 hours a day, her quest for a comprehensive afterschool program for her son was long and unfruitful. In talking with Aparna over a casual summer barbeque she found some resonance and decided it was time to figure out an answer. Since then, there has been no looking back and Preeti has been become the founder, and captain of this mothership!!

Aparna (aparna@little-champs.net), is also a Bay Area resident for over a decade, a software engineer and most of all a wife and working mom with children aged 7 and 3. She loves reading and making art and craft with her kids. Prior to having her own, Aparna worked with children at the Jain Center of Northern California, teaching them dance. In her experience as a working mother, it was always her biggest challenge to find an afterschool program that was safe, engaging and inspiring for her children. When realizing she was not alone, she decided to work with other parents and bring together the right solution!!
